The Lego F14 T & Scuderia Ferrari Truck
A complete F1 Garage on wheels.
I’m just going to say it. Of all the sets in the Lego Speed Champions series, this one is my favorite. Hands down. The Scuderia Ferrari Truck and F14 T Lego Race car is the best set, and the one you should spend your money on if you were only able to get one.
I’ve been to many F1 Races, most recently to all the ones in Austin, TX at the COTA race track, and although I am not actively involved in the sport, I always get a pit pass and see the machines up and close. For me, not only are the actual race cars incredible machines, but I am amazed that every week during the F1 season, everything is moved from city to city around the world. An entire world class garage is set-up in a new location for race day, then just hours of the winner passing the checkered flag, everything is carefully put away, and transported to a new city for the next race.
That’s what this Lego Speed Champions set is all about. It is a complete garage (from the Lego perspective) on wheels. Everything a team would need to win an F1 Race.
Let me also say, that this is another one of the officially licensed Ferrari Lego sets, like the Lego LaFerrari car. It has a little hologram below the set number on the back of the box to show that it is a real Ferrari product. I personally haven’t seen a set without this hologram sticker, but I’m sure that if you aren’t careful, a fake one might appear on eBay or Craigslist. Be sure to always get your Lego sets from an official source. I always use Amazon.com.
The truck is big – really big – 8 studs wide, and over 12 inches long. The only Lego City vehicle I can compare it to in size is the Fairground Mixer. No other vehicle in my collection even comes close to the size. It would be able to drive down one of the Lego road plates, but would take up all of one lane, and most of another.
The Ferrari truck comes in three sections, the cab, and the trailer, and of course the Minifigs. I’ll start with the cab, and then talk about my favorite part the Trailer, and finally describe all the Ferrari Minifigures When this big review is done you will know all about the Ferrari Semi F1 Truck.
Lego Ferrari Scuderia Truck Cab
The front part of this truck, which some call the rig or hauler is massive, but still fits the Lego minifigure scale well. At 8 studs wide, this big red monster is larger than most cars, but in reality an 18-wheeler is bigger in real life too. This isn’t a true 18-wheeler, as the cab only has 4 wheels, and the back has another 4. But for me that isn’t a bad thing. Adding more wheels, and making them Dualies like the real thing would have been out of scale.
Inside the cab, there is ample room for 2 minifigures. Each one has their own blue seat. There is a gear shifter in the middle and a oversized steering wheel that can go on either the left or right side (depending on your country. There is a tiny bit of storage behind the seats, but not really enough room for an other minifig. You access them by lifting off the top, as is the case for 99% of all Lego cars. This cab doesn’t have any doors which is a bit strange.
There are some neat details on the cab, like the dual airhorns on the roof, the yellow and blue hydraulic line connections in the back, and the way the cab is built looks like it would tilt up like a real cab, but it doesn’t. There are little steps on the side to access the back of the cab, and an oversided hitch mounting plate. It is different than the one from the fairground mixer. It would have been cool if they could be the same and interchangeable. I guess I’d have to MOC that if I wanted to.
The Ferrari Trailer
The red Ferrari Trailer is huge. 10 studs wide and over 42 studs long. I know that it is 2 studs wider than the truck cab, but the cab has little aerodynamic wings on the sides that flare out so it doesn’t appear ugly.
All sealed up, the trailer doesn’t look like much. There are some fairings along the bottom that hide the wheels, and a little red and yellow lever on the side for the trailer’s feet to come down so it is level when unhitched. The back doesn’t have traditional doors, but a bi-folding ramp that fits inside the trailer when closed. But I’ll get to that in a minute.
On one side are two little white and red handles that lift up opening the entire side of the Ferrari Trailer so you can get inside. Every little bit of the inside is used, just like in a real F1 Transport.
Lets start our tour from the front of the trailer and work backwards. Immediately at the front of the cab is a small awards section where Ferrari is showing off it’s latest trophy and medals. There is a golden trophy on a stand and two awards on either side.
Next is space for two rolling tool chests. Each of these white and red Lego tool boxes holds wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, hammers, and other tools needed to repair the race car during a pit stop. there are little tiny wheels and a white door that holds the items inside.
There is also a pit stop sign on a pole that signals the driver when it is time to stop, or go when the pitstop is finished. It could also be used as a timing board in case the telemetry goes out.
Also at the front of the first compartment is a small jack or dolly. It seems kind of small to be a floorjack to lift up the F1 car, so I guess it is a dolly to move around the spare tires.
In the middle of the first compartment is a red Ferrari track scooter. This is great for zooming around the pit stop, or getting to a remote part of the racetrack quickly.
At the back of the first compartment is a telemetry station. There are 3 screens mounted on the wall, and a computer keyboard with a coffee cup on a table

How many pieces are in set 75913 – LEGO F14 T & Scuderia Ferrari Truck?
This set has 884 pieces, and as usual I got about 18 extra small pieces.
How many instruction books are in set 75913 – LEGO F14 T & Scuderia Ferrari Truck?
The LaFerrari from the Speed Racer Series has two full color instruction books. The build is really detailed and it takes 2 books for all the instructions. One thing I didn’t like is that they are folded in half (as you can see from the photo). But I guess they had to do that to fit them in the box. This is a problem with all the cars in this series
How long does it take to build 75913 – LEGO F14 T & Scuderia Ferrari Truck?
It took me about 15 minutes to build this set.
How many minifigures are in 75913 – LEGO F14 T & Scuderia Ferrari Truck?
This set comes with only one minifigure. It’s a race car driver with red pants, a black helmet with a clearvisor and a red torso with a little Ferrari logo. His head is yellow, and the face is painted on one side only.
Does 75899 – LEGO LaFerrari come with any stickers?
This set comes with a lot of stickers to decorate the car, but all my regular readers know that I never put on the stickers. Sometimes the sets look funny without stickers, but I don’t like them on my Lego Bricks.
What is the best piece(s) in 75899 – LEGO LaFerrari?
One thing that is unique to the cars in the Speed Champion series is the cockpit canopy. Instead of having a traditional windshield, this clear, smoked color piece acts as both an aerodynamic windshield, and has an incorporated roof and side windows too. The whole thing just pops off to gain access to the driver’s seat. There is only room for one minifigure in this car.
Should I buy 75899 – LEGO LaFerrari?
I am a huge fan of super cars, and love this new Speed Champion set from LEGO. When I found out about them I immediately ordered the complete series, as I knew that this one probably won’t last long. It is going to be collected by kids and adults equally. So if you love cars, or interesting builds, or super cars, then this is a Lego set for you. I especially think this car will sell out fast as there is such a large group of people that buy Ferrari merchandise.
What theme or group is the 75899 – LEGO LaFerrari a part of?
The Lego LaFerrari car is one of the 2015 Speed Champion Series
Does the 75899 – LEGO LaFerrari come with a parts separator?
No, this set does not come with a parts separator.
What was your favorite component or part to build in 75899 – LEGO LaFerrari?
Obviously this Ferrari is mostly red, but hidden underneath all of the red pieces are some yellow bricks, and even pieces with different colors. If you don’t build the set, you wouldn’t know about them.
Another favorite part of this set is the wheels. They 5 star wheels are actually hubcaps that you can change out using the supplied black wrench that the Ferrari minifigure is holding. This set comes with 2 full sets of hubcaps, and I think the 5 spoke mag lego wheels look the best.
Would you buy 75899 – LEGO LaFerrari?
I really like this set, and I might buy a couple more so I can decorate one with stickers, and save a couple for resale in future years. I have a feeling that once this set is discontinued the price will really jump up as car collectors who have a lot of money will want one if they didn’t get one.
How experienced a Lego builder do you need to be to build 75899 – LEGO LaFerrari?
The age range for this set is 7-14, which is just about right – younger builders will love to play with the car once it is built, and older Lego experts will really get into the way the car is put together.
