The Lego Mountain Hut – Build #3
It does’t come close to using all the pieces but is my favorite build of all 3
Just to review, this is a three in one build which means that this set comes with three instruction books, so using the same pieces (but not all at once) you can build three Lego created models from one box. Each build has different techniques, and build styles. I encourage you to get this set by clicking on the photo of the box, and then try building each for yourself.
That’s exactly what I did with this set. I got to do 3 different builds all with the same pieces. First I put it together using the first instruction book, then I carefully took everything apart and made a big pile of the Lego pieces. Then I turned to the second instruction book and did the same thing again, making sure I took photos for my Lego Blog.
As I mentioned in my other posts, this is my favorite build of the set. But I’ll talk about that after the photos.
The Third build
The first build is pretty much what you would expect. It’s a little house with a pretty cool Lego build mountain and waterfall. The minifig that comes with the set has a pick axe and can climb the mountain. The second build is a house that incorporates the same mountain pieces into the house build. So the fireplace looks like it is built out of stone.
But the third build takes the set in a different direction. It is more of a treehouse, or a house built high up on a mountain, than a regular log cabin.
The build starts by making a little river or stream on the baseplate using a combination of small blue plates in different shades. Then the Lego designers create a mountain and carefully incorporate steps into it as the build continues. Finally the little Lego cabin is built on top of the mountain. Plus there is a little lego built kayak, and a lego built tree with a couple of birds.
The minifigure is the same throughout the sets and in this one he has a little campfire going and a pot with a lid (that looks like a radar gun).
The house is pretty tiny with just enough room for a tiny lego bed and a dresser. There is no kitchen in this house, so he has to do all his cooking outside.
After completing this model, there are a lot of leftover pieces, and I think this is the best one to use to start your own MOCs, as it is just too tempting to take some of the leftover pieces and see where you can put them to make it better.
