Lego Minifig Series 12 – Lifeguard Guy

The Lifeguard guy is one of 16 new people in the series 12 Lego Minifig set.  Each one comes in a yellow bag.  You don’t know which one you are going to get when you buy the bag, which make it fun to collect them all.

Start or begin your collection today! I got mine from Target, but they don’t always have them. I know Amazon.com does, so use this link to help my site out: LEGO Minifigures Series 12 – Set # 71007

The Lifeguard Minifig is one of a kind, and has some cool stuff.  It looks like he might be from Baywatch or from a beach in L.A.  He has messy brown hair, a red flotation device, and some red binoculars.  Painted on his face are blue sunglasses, and he could use a shave.  He doesn’t wear a shirt, and has lots of muscles, but not much of a tan.  His name might be J.T. because those are the initials painted on his red lifeguard swim shorts.

Both the binoculars and the floatie can be gripped by the minifig, but only the binoculars have a female stud so they can be set down and stay in place

Lego recently released the series 12 minifigs, and I have been on a quest to get them all.  Visit that page to see a list of all 16.

This is how the Lifeguard Guy is described on Lego.com:

“Nobody’s getting in trouble while I’m on duty!”

No one knows what the Lifeguard Guy did before he became a lifeguard. He just showed up one day, fully trained and licensed, and started keeping the beach safe. He sometimes talks about a past full of action, intrigue and martial arts, but if there’s any record of his adventures, nobody has been able to find it.

All through the hot summer, he scans the water with his binoculars, ready to spring into action at the slightest hint of trouble. If anything goes wrong, he’s there in a flash and a splash, using his floating rescue buoy to help tired swimmers get back to shore. And what about his mysterious history? A few of his co-workers think that maybe it was all just a role he used to play on TV, but there’s no doubting that he makes one swell lifeguard!

I really like the lifeguard.  He is one of my favorites in this new series.  But he does have one strange thing that sort of bothers me.  His red shorts are only painted on in the front.  It looks like he doesn’t have any shorts on from the back!
